Protector vs. Healer
I've been doing some HM missions and vanquishes with heroes (sabway) and henchies. It works nicely as long as I don't try harder areas. What I want to know is which is better to keep my party alive? Protector or Healer henchmen?
Thanks =)

It really depends on the build I think. Check on what build they have, and use whichever best suits your needs. Protection Henchmen can often spam Protective Spirit and run low on energy as a result. For this reason I usually (though not always) go for the Healer, such as Alesia, or Mhenlo. In Cantha, however, if given the choice of Sister Tai or Jamei only, I'll always pick Professor Gai, he's a way better healer in my opinion, even without Hex Removal.

Prophecies: Lina hands down, Alesia sucks balls because she wubs to tank.
Factions, hard one, most factions healers blow, I think I like redemptor karl best of em all (draw conditions) and Danika isn't half bad either, too bad Blessed Light spam drains her ene so fast. Jamei and Sis tai are pretty horribaed and, as beaver stated, Professor gai isn't alf bad at all.
Nightfall and EOTN got pretty decent monk henchies, as far as I know from the top of my head Kihm carries aegis .

In EOTN I always take both, especially in HM.
put some offensive builds on your heroes (whichever X-way you want) and let the henchies do the defence. I also use the earth henchman for the wards.

About the energy problems: BR helps, since henchies tend to have incredibly bad e. management. I'd rather give up one slot for Blood Ritual than have my henchie healers suddenly run out of energy on me, particularly since I can't check their energy, and they kinda like to spam.

EOTN wise i take the protection henchmen (i think its Lina) only becuase she offers both prot and healing while if u look at mhenlos skills he only has hex removal and healing for the most part.
so i often take a healer hero and put minimal prot that lina doesnt carry.

That's five henchmen (both heal&prot, guardian, blood and mesmer), 1 player and 3 discord heroes.
Wish I could do that, happy for you that you can !

If you're prepared to heavily micro your heroes, prot. Otherwise, healing with cheap but effective prots - SoA, Aegis?
